A combination of total body resistance training workouts and cardio interval training has been proven in both the lab and in the gym to be the ultimate one-two fat burning punch for twice the results in less than half the time when compared to the primitive, outdated aerobic training approach to weight loss.</p>
<p>Now, what exactly is a total body resistance training workout? Well, there are many ways to skin a cat but for our purposes a total body workout means that you have effectively worked you upper body, lower body, and core within the same workout.</p>
<p>Now, am I saying that you need to perform three separate exercises each and every workout to get that total body effect? Not exactly, in fact I am about to share with you today a rather revolutionary approach to fat loss training that truly simplifies the process on the user&#8217;s end. Essentially I am going to teach you how to do ONE exercise total body workouts using combination exercises to burn belly fat fast!</p>
<p>A combination exercise is where you take one exercise and combine it with one or more exercises. The whole idea here is to get more muscles involved to burn calories (and fat) in the shortest amount of time possible. After all, the key to any successful fat loss workout is escalating density, or the accumulation of more work in the same amount of time or less from workout to workout. So, total body workouts are great, but why not turbo charge your results by using total body exercises within your total body workouts.</p>
<p>For example, let&#8217;s say you are doing a dumbbell lunge to work your lower body. The lunge is a unilateral knee-dominant exercise which when performed correctly dramatically increases single-leg strength and stability and is a key movement pattern to teaching your body how to decelerate or efficiently stop and go on command. Well if you add a dumbbell curl to press at the end of each lunge, you would transform this exercise from a great lower body exercise to an even better TOTAL body exercise by simultaneously involving your upper body. The curl to press is in itself a combination upper body movement that works both pull-push components at the same time. Plus, your core is the link between all integrated upper and lower body movements so any time you perform an upper-lower body combo exercise your core automatically gets called into action. In other words, choose the right exercise and it&#8217;s one and your done!</p>
<p>So, now let&#8217;s show you how to make use of this single total body exercise for a simple, yet brutally effective five to ten minute fat loss workout:</p>

Yep, that&#8217;s called making the most out of every available second to melt off that ugly, unwanted body fat as quickly and efficiently as possible.</p>
<p>Now, if this sounds easy, let me personally guarantee you that it certainly is not. Many noted fitness professionals like Charles Staley and Alwyn Cosgrove refer to this type of workout as Escalating Density Training (EDT) and have used it with their diverse clientele with great success. Just like every trainer has a different name for every exercise, so do I have a different name for this type of training. I refer to it as Continuous Work because you are literally performing the same total body exercise continuously for 5-10 straight minutes. My many boot camp and corporate clients have a definite love-hate relationship with these workouts. Love because of the intensity and hate&#8230; well, because of the intensity!</p>
<p>Here are three more great &#8220;One Exercise Workout&#8221; examples that you can do anywhere:</p>
<p>One Exercise Workout#2- 1-Arm DB Squat to Press</p>
<p>- Select one dumbbell (in general, 8-15+ lbs for women and 15-30+ lbs for men works great)</p>
<p>- 1 Round = Perform 10 total reps/side</p>
<p>- Perform max rounds for time in 5-10 minutes, only taking brief 5-20 sec rest periods as needed when speed slows and/or technique/form is jeopardized</p>
<p>- Once you can perform at least 1 round per minute, seek to increase the weight by 2-5 lbs per dumbbell</p>
<p>One Exercise Workout#3- 1-Arm DB Swing</p>
<p>- Select one dumbbell (in general, 8-15+ lbs for women and 15-30+ lbs for men works great)</p>
<p>- 1 Round = Perform 10 total reps/side</p>

<p>- Perform max reps for time in 5-10 minutes, only taking brief 5-20 sec rest periods as needed when speed slows and/or technique/form is jeopardized</p>
<p>- Once you can perform at least 5-10 reps per minute, seek to increase the weight by 2-5 lbs per dumbbell</p>
<p>Well there it is, four great &#8220;One Exercise Workouts&#8221; involving total body combination exercises that you can do in 5-10 minutes at home or on the road when traveling. Now if you really wanted to ramp up your results with a full 20-minute workout, try selecting two of the total body exercises above and then doing two separate 10-minute workouts or selecting all four of the total body exercises above and then doing four separate 5-minute workouts. And for those of you hardcore lifters, try adding in these short, but sweet 5-10 minute workouts as finishers for a great metabolic boost to end each training session. It will go a long way to helping you stay lean year round.</p>

<p>You are going to be looking for excuses as to why you should not work out. You are going to be busy. One of the ways to help you overcome your excuses is to be prepared at all times for your workout.</p>
<p>Consider having two exercise bags packed at all times. Have one at work, and leave one in the trunk of your car. This way you always have your gear ready. If you carpool, you can use the work bag. If your work has a workout facility, you can workout on your lunch break without having to run to your car.</p>
<p>If you are working out at home in the morning before work, you can help ensure that you get your workout in by sleeping in your workout clothes. After all, they are comfortable, and then all you will have to do to workout in the morning is throw on your shoes. This gives you less of an opportunity to make excuses as to why you cannot get out of bed and exercise.</p>
<p>Tip 2 &#8211; Build Accountability</p>
<p>If you are going to workout in a public location, like a gym or fitness center, find someone to workout with. If you have someone that you know is waiting for you at the gym, you are less likely to skip your workout. Working out with a friend is fun too, and helps keep you motivated to push yourself to the next level of intensity.</p>
<p>Perhaps you do not have a friend that you can meet at the gym to workout. After all, we are all busy. If this is the case, find someone you trust who can hold you accountable to your workout. Ask a trusted friend or family member to check with you from time to time to make sure that you worked out that week or that day. Knowing that someone will ask may keep you motivated.</p>
<p>Tip 3 &#8211; Vary Your Routine</p>
<p>Nothing will cause you to burn out faster than repeating the same routine day after day, week after week. Buy an extra workout video or piece of equipment so that you can vary your routine. You need to have some variety so that you do not get bored.</p>
<p>Another reason that varying your workout is important is that it will help you see results faster. Doing the same routine over and over will work the same muscle groups over and over. Adding variety will help ensure that all of the major muscles get a workout, which will lead to faster results. Incorporate some variety into your daily routine as well. Spend 15 minutes on one muscle group, and then 15 minutes on another. This will keep you motivated and help you see results.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Many people think that exercise is like scrubbing the toilet bowl with a toothbrush. Sure when you start off, it feels like a chore that’s very uncomfortable. Beginning to exercise for the first time in a long time or for the first time ever is the hardest part because our bodies aren’t used to it. It can be like riding a bike up hill. It’s hard and it’s a long drawn out tiring process at the start. But once you make it to the top of the hill going downhill is no problem. It’s much easier to maintain your fitness than it is to get fit in the first place.</p>
<p>For every pound of muscle you build an extra 50 calories a day is burned just to maintain itself. Wouldn’t you like to burn fat when simply relaxing on your sofa watching TV? Do you want to strive to get to this point? You may ask yourself how this is even possible. Don’t think that there is some magic formula out there where you can burn calories by doing nothing forever. You have to participate in the right workout program to get to this point of doing nothing while still burning calories.<br />
Most people know that they need to workout, but a lot don’t have a structured program they can follow to meet their goals. There are so many different workout plans out there, but I’m only going to concentrate on a few general rules and on a specific 3 day workout program. More specific customized workout plans can be implemented by our certified personal trainers. You can call or contact us for a free one on one workout session.</p>
<p>As a general rule you should workout 3 times a week. Each workout session would last around 20 minutes each. That’s a total of 60 minutes. If you can watch a one hour episode of your favorite show in one sitting then you should be able to workout for an hour each week. There should be no excuse for not having enough time to workout.</p>
<p>You’ll participate in speed intervals. This means you’ll mix your cardio workouts with high and low intensity efforts. For example when jogging, you can run slowly for 2 minutes and then for 15 to 30 seconds you can sprint. Participating in speed intervals has shown to be more effective for losing fat compared to doing steady state cardio exercises.</p>
<p>You’ll also need to workout your abdominal muscles (abs) 2 to 3 times a week to develop a lean strong core area. Developing strong abs has more benefits than just cosmetic. By developing your abs you strip away the fat which reduces your risk of heart disease and diabetes. And let’s not forget that developing your abs has been shown to improve your sex life because less fat improves blood flow which is important to male and female sexual satisfaction. And if those previously mentioned reasons don’t give you motivation, then another reason to motivate you to maintain strong abs is for your back. Having a strong core prevents those nagging back pains. Most back pain is related to weak abs. So maintaining strong abs can help stop many back issues from ever coming about. Think of the abs as the foundation for your body. Having a strong foundation gives you a layer of protection.</p>
<p>And the last activity you must participate in is doing strength training for your big muscles groups. This is essentially weight lifting. Working out the large muscles groups in your body is important because those are the muscles that help you burn the most fat.</p>
<p>Below is a suggested workout program you can follow each week:</p>
<p>Monday:</p>
<p>Perform each abdominal exercise below 1 time only. Make sure to do each repetition slowly. </p>
<p>Abdominal workout: <br />
Traditional crunch 12-15 reps Rest for 30 seconds. <br />
Bent-Leg Knee Raise 12-15 reps Rest for 30 seconds. <br />
Oblique V-Up 10 reps each side Rest for 30 seconds. <br />
Bridge 1-2 reps Rest for 30 seconds. <br />
Back Extension 12-15 reps Rest for 30 seconds. </p>
<p>Strength-training circuit <br />
Do the strength-training exercises below in a circuit twice. This means to perform each exercise once then perform the same set of exercises once again. This is a circuit of 2. </p>
<p>Squat 10-12 reps Rest for 30 seconds. <br />
Bench Press 10 reps Rest for 30 seconds. <br />
Pull Down 10 reps Rest for 30 seconds. <br />

Some mistakes are quite scientific in nature, such as not getting enough proteins in your system after a workout, but most are as common sense as common sense gets. There’s no reason for these mistakes to be committed, yet we’re all guilty of making these mistakes from time to time, or even on a continual basis. In order to have a truly effective workout you need to understand the reasoning behind these mistakes and how you can correct them.</p>
<p>Workout mistake 1: Not eating immediately after a workout</p>
<p>Some people don’t take the time to ‘feed’ their muscles after a workout with the necessary protein and carbohydrates. You need to be taking in food within about 30 minutes after your workout to have the full effect. This window of opportunity means that you need a quick meal, something that doesn’t take long to prepare, making those protein and carb shakes the ideal post-workout meal. This will allow your body to recover quicker and help your muscles grow.</p>
<p>Workout mistake 2: Training without a plan</p>
<p>A lot of people train by going to a gym, lifting whatever weights are available, playing with whatever machine is available, and waiting for their favourite piece of equipment to become available. Doing this consistently is a complete waste of time. You need to develop goals as to why you want to workout, assess where you are now, and what plan of action will allow you to get to where you want to be. This will make your workouts more focused, and more effective.</p>
<p>Workout mistake 3: Repeating the same workouts</p>
<p>You don’t want to be repeating your workouts from one session to the next. You need to move your attention from your areas of strength to your weaker points, which means doing workouts that really challenge you. Make sure that you are continually improving after each workout, either by doing just one more rep, or adding a little more weight to the exercise, or doing an extra minute of cardio. Whatever it is make sure you are improving on your previous workout. </p>
<p>Workout mistake 4: Training without intensity</p>
<p>Some people tend to just coast through a workout; using light weights in low reps, low intensity cardio, and overall low intensity workouts. In order to make significant gains you need to train with intensity and push yourself to improve in each workout. Rather than relying on a long, steady cardio workout, try training in high intensity intervals. And instead of doing higher rep ranges with lighter weights, do lower rep ranges with more weights. The harder you train, the quicker you will see results.</p>
<p>Workout mistake 5: Thinking you need to ‘feel the burn’</p>
<p>Some people think that to have an effective workout you need to feel that burn in your muscles. That burn is a result of lactic acid building up during the workout and may actually slow down muscle growth, not speed it up. It has nothing to do with muscle growth, and nothing to do with how hard you’re training. You can reduce lactic build-up by training in a rep range of 5-7 rather than higher rep ranges of 10 and above.</p>
<p>Workout mistake 6: Comparing yourself to others</p>
<p>Don’t compare yourself to the professional body builders or the professional athletes who train for hours every day. Comparing yourself to others lowers your self-esteem and confidence, making you frustrated and unhappy. Focus on your own goals, and the results you want to see in yourself through each of your workouts. If you want to workout in the morning get out of bed an hour earlier, which means you go to sleep an hour earlier. Take responsibility for all of your actions and create the masterpiece of your life.</p>

Identify exactly what you’ve been doing incorrectly, learn from the mistake, and find out how you can correct the situation. <p>Strengthen, define and build your chest with this super set workout!</p>
<p>Hi everyone and welcome to the ultimate chest super set workout!  This is a challenging chest workout that will not only build strength in your chest but will work you hard with lots of sets and reps to build your muscular endurance and help you burn fat so you can move further towards that lean, ripped athletic look.</p>
<p>This workout is made up of three super sets.  Each super set has 2 exercises to be performed per set and 3 sets must be completed in order to move on to the next super set.  The key to this workout is to move from exercise to exercise, set to set and super set to super set, taking as few breaks as possible in between. </p>
<p>The first super set is a combination of 2 exercises designed to stretch the chest.  Three sets of the 2 exercise combo are required to be completed.  The second super set is a combination of 2 exercises designed to contract the chest.  Again, 3 sets of the 2 exercise combo are required to be completed.  Finally, the third super set is comprised of 2 compound movement exercises, using the triceps and shoulders to aid the pre exhausted chest muscles. Focus on your breathing and on keeping good form on each rep.  Push yourself by telling yourself you can do it in times of fatigue.</p>
