Are you tired of doing the elliptical and treadmill for long hours and not seeing significant results? Do you think that you should get more results for the time you spent doing low intensity cardio? If the answer to these two questions is yes then you may want to read this article.
When you want to Melt fat away from your body you have to do high intensity interval training, this is the type of training that I use on my $link1%, rather than low intensity steady state.
Let me give you an example of what HIIT is. In a nutshell you should be working “hard: than resting. Now hard is a variable that will be different from everyone. Let me use a treadmill as a example. If you set the treadmill to 7.5 (running) and you run for 3 minutes and then lower the speed to 3.5 (fast walk) for 30 seconds and then after 30 seconds you proceed to run at 7.5. This is how you do HIIT on a treadmill.
The other way of doing HIIT to lose fat is to perform a burpee push up. In my opinion as a personal trainer that this is the ultimate test of your cardiovascular efficiency. I always add push up burpee exercise to my custom workout program . This exercise is considered to be a compound movement because it will fire various muscle at once.
For starters start with 10 repetition of push up burpee and then 1 minute rest. Repeating the process 3 times to complete 3 sets. Take as long as you need to complete the 10 repetition but make sure that you are pushing yourself every set and every repetition
For intermediate do a push up burpee for 3 minutes and do as much as you can, record it, and try to beat your previous repetition in the next 2 sets.
For more advanced clients I would start by making them do a 100 burpee challenge. If you go on video websites you will see a lot of people trying to do this challenge. The goal is to do 100 push up burpees within 5 minutes. According to my calculations you would have to do a push up burpee every 3 seconds just to make it to the 5 minute time limit. This challenge will push your body to its limits. You will have lactic acid build up in your triceps, quads and shoulders. You will be out of breathe at one point but you have to keep pushing yourself to do more and more
The next time you decide to do some cardio, try doing a push up burpee and you will never spend hours upon hours on the treadmill or the elliptical. This article should enlighten you that there more options besides machines
