With the proper cardio such as cycling, playing basketball, soccer, volleyball, jogging etc. you can increase your metabolism as well. Don’t you think you can do steady pace cardio in the gym, that’s not the proper cardio because that type of cardio keeps your heart rate steady and that’s bad for burning fat.
So what you need to do is workout 3-4 days a week for 45 – 60 minutes a day, I recommend doing weight lifting workouts more than cardio.
But if you have the time jogging for about 20 minutes each morning and lifting weights 3-4 days a week is great.
You can choose to go to a gym or to workout at home, if you are low on budget I suggest you buy some cheap used set of dumbbells and a barbell and that’s really all you need at home to start working out and flattening the stomach.
Diet
When you want to burn fat doing workouts only isn’t enough and following a diet is neither.
The key for burning fat is simple, eat less and exercise more.
Eat less but do eat more daily meals, eat 5-6 meals a day.
To be honest most people already know what they should be eating and what not. I bet you know you need to skip fast food, but you also need to skip processed food as well, skip white flour products.
Eat a lot of vegetables, fruit, whole grain carbs (oats, brown rice, whole wheat bread), eat 5-6 meals with 20 to 25g protein.
When you do everything correctly you will burn your stomach fat, but at this point you will find that your abs are not really hard but they are visible. And now it’s time to do ab specific exercises (no belts, ab machines!!).
