The Risk Of Belly Fat

For most of us a little belly fat may seem normal. Perhaps it is do to heredity or you may feel it is just part of the aging process. Sometimes a little belly fat maybe too much belly fat. Walking around with some belly fat is probably not that big of a deal. However, too much belly brings many risks to one health.

Excessive belly fat is the cause to so many diseases and abnormal health to millions of people worldwide. It may simple conditions like fatigue or sore knees and back. These are some of the minor effects too much belly fat brings. The major and highly dangerous risks are:

In Men – Heart Disease, Stroke, Some types of Cancers, Type 2 diabetes, Insulin resistance, High triglycerides, Low levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL), or “good,” cholesterol, Metabolic syndrome, Sleep apnea,

In women – Heart disease, Breast cancer, Diabetes, Metabolic syndrome, Gallbladder problems, High blood pressure, Colorectal cancer

So how do you tell if you have too much belly fat?
The best way is to measure your midsection. Men that have a waist greater than 40 inches (102 Centimeters) or Women that have a waist greater than 35 inches (89 Centimeters) need to take action and lose that belly fat.

The proper way to measure your waist is to take a waist tape measure and wrap it around your waist just above the hipbone. You should remove any clothing around waist first and make sure the tape measure is snug. You should also be relaxed do not suck in your stomach or such.

Now we all know the best way to burn belly fat, specially belly weight is with proper diet and regular exercise. Now if it was that easy none for us would have this belly fat problem. Many diet plans exist you should always consult with a nutritionist to be sure you are receiving all the necessary vitamins and nutrients from the diet you select.

Here are some of the common myths about dieting. First, Starvation is not a proper diet method and you will not effectively lose weight from doing so. It is recommended to eat small portions of food through out the day.

Eating red meat in Not an effective way to lose weight. Red meat is more difficult for the body to digest and is one of leading causes of belly fat.

Remember are bodies are designed to eat natural foods like fruits and vegetable, nut and berries. Just because the foods you eat are low in calories does not mean they are healthy.

Not all fats are bad! Sure you want to avoid those nasty trans fats but some fats are necessary for the human body to function properly.
